You can't do without union involvement here. And if it does not exist, then without recourse to the state bodies on occupational safety and health. In writing, ask the employer is the director of the approved schedule for each month and stick to it. The law will be on your side. And if they start sneaking around, then complain to the appropriate authorities.

Better to think for yourself - with vacations and schedules to deal with the law as you need. Overtime should be paid - then they will start to deal with the sick.
