Apart from just plugging in the headphones, you have to customize them. You can do this by clicking on the bottom right speaker icon and open Playback Devices, then click on your device and click on Properties, then click on Advanced and there in theFormat set the default maximum available Hz, and please clarify whose sound drivers you have installed.
