Traditionalism is a philosophical school, the founder of which is considered to be a famous French esoteric philosopher René Guénon 1886-1951. The subject of the study of Traditionalism is the so-called Primordial Tradition, i.e. that sacred knowledge whose source is the Creator himself, who transmitted this knowledge to his true creators. According to Henon, all esoteric traditions have the same root of origin and cannot, in essence, contradict each other. It is well known that Henon himself was one of the few initiates into certain traditions and schools of Sufism, the Tao, the Hindu school of Advaita. Genon's contribution to the study of esoteric traditions will, in all likelihood, not soon be appreciated. But one thing is clear today: anyone wishing to have a proper understanding of what true esotericism is must become acquainted with the creative legacy of this brilliant man. The school of Henon has received its worthy successor in such thinkers as Michel Walzahn, Fridtjof Schuon, Titus Buchardt, Guido di George, Julius Evola, Marco Pallis, René Allard, André Pro, Probst-Birabin and many others.

The concepts of conservatism and traditionalism emerged in Western philosophy as tools to separate the sphere of social revolutions from those forces that oppose these revolutions as instruments of these counter-revolutionary forces.
