Yong has two main product categories: flashes and lenses. Flashes have long since moved from being shitty and unreliable things to a higher category of more or less reliable things. The lenses have been around for a while now, so it's a little too early to talk about acceptable quality. Yongi has already started updating their line of lenses at this point. The new lenses are more adequate in quality than what the Chinese have entered the market. For example the new YN50 1.8 In short, as long as the lenses are what they cost and shoot. Cheap. Personally I am waiting impatiently for the updated versions of YN35mm and YN100mm to evaluate the quality for purchase. Yongs have been very consistent on this so far.

Their flashes have already proven themselves well, don't know about the lenses, haven't had a chance to try them.
