They can scratch anything. Get a bigger scratching post. And it's not a guarantee in my house - they scratch the wallpaper. What previous cats that the present one in one place.

An acquaintance of mine has a heating radiator scratching so yes. Chipboard is bad furniture needs more scratching. Get some kapron rope and wrap it around table legs boards etc.

I have scratched only something soft that claws cling. Bed does not touch the bed suggest a larger bedspread and you will not have this problem.
