Depends on what your goals are and what is most important to you If you just shoot for the family at home, without further editing and processing, the HDD more convenient Footage quickly and easily pumped to disk and ready to record. You don't have to do anything with it. If quality is important to you, if you are going to edit your material, edit it somehow, you should buy miniDV, or better yet HDV. To tell the truth, working with it takes more time and knowledge, but the result will be at the appropriate level. You can save the footage on a tape at any time, but storing video on an HDD camera is like not having a camera Example: You went to Egypt and in one day you took two tapes, went to any store and bought a pack of clean tapes.
