Best Extra Virchen 100 olive oil, Spanish. It is forbidden by law to make olive oil mixes there. I prefer it in dark green glass bottles. I fry fish, meat, poultry, put it in Mediterranean style vegetable salads with tuna, brynza, avocado, rosemary, etc.

I don't really believe in fakes I haven't come across them. Try also take grape seed oil sometime a very good option its definitely not fake.

1. buy only in a place where you are sure you are not cheated, virgin, cold-pressed 2. store in a dark, cool place, or it will go bad 3. real olive oil thickens in the fridge, like fat 4. it is the richest in minerals and vitamins oil. 5. you have to buy oil that has >2 acidity on it 6. hot-pressed oil does not have its medicinal properties, and therefore there is no point in buying such expensive oil. 7. the shelf life is up to 11/2 years. then it gets bitter and spoils the product.
