Not at every watering. Twice a month, and see what kind of soil you have, and the flower. For azalea - necessarily. For heather - more often. For hydrangeas - less often. Better - bring the soil from the woods, with pine needles. It is breathable and free from fungus. For hydrangeas - better to make your own?

Many plants need acidified water, not just plant in acidic soil. So it will feel most comfortable but this is not a panacea, and many normal survive and live with watering just standing water

Not every watering can acidify the soil this way you can use a soil acidity determinant if you know exactly what pH value is needed by the plant
