What's the best lens to buy first? and got a better answer

18-105 is noticeably more versatile. A lot of people after buying a camera want something longer than the 55mm of the 18-55 kit, so the 18-105 is better, and it doesn't cost much more. When you get a good taste of photography you won't need to sell your 18-105. It will be a good travel zoom. You don't need to carry a lot of optics, you just attach one universal lens and go. And don't think the 18-105 is a bad lens. If you know how to use it people make great photos.

If you can, go for the 18-105. It will give you almost the same quality as the 18-55 but will greatly expand your camera's capabilities.

Better than the 18-105 travel zoom you'll need it anyway. The only drawback is the 18 has worse image quality than the 18-55 but it has a much longer end.

don't need a bigger one. i've got a fixing wide open after the kit. Maybe you won't need it either.
