I think it's absolutely right that we shouldn't complain or whine. why should outsiders and even not quite outsiders whine about us?

It's not so much a matter of bad tone as of unwillingness to pry into other people's problems and sympathize, much less solve them. It's not customary. My home is my fortress.

Because such a person is considered weak mentally unbalanced and has achieved nothing in life. With his whining and wages, he is trying to get sympathy. Many people consider such peoplenichestvo probably so in many countries it is considered a sign of bad taste.
