the pros and cons of the TURBOOTAIMER? and got a better answer

It makes sense only when you push the accelerator down the autobahn for 200 and have to take a piss, and the turbine is red. You would not be able to shut off immediately, oil in turbine would boil and clog the channel.

I don't need it by and large. I have one on my diesel now programmed for three minutes.

If you like to drive, put it on. If you don't give a soot, no need in principle. If you had to throttle before stopping, let it idle for 15-30 seconds and that's it.

when there are minutes to go. just drive safely. it's better. my diesel citroen went over 330,000 without this stuff. and the turbine is factory installed. and is still running. and needs no replacement.

Check coolant temperature is enough.

It won't be worse, especially if you turn off a hot engine after a heavy load, the turbine has no time to cool down and the oil in the turbine bearings overheats since its circulation stops after turning off, so it can stick there and the sludge at the next start promotes wear of the same bearings because it is already a solid deposit

You have to idle for at least a minute or the turbine will fail, that's why I don't like these turbines:

How many cars have I had no problems with turbines. I am certainly not a racer but I can easily go 160-180 on the highway. Even when I stop at speed it takes a minute to stop completely. And at idle it flails a little. No problems. May be it's the good oil in all my cars with Liqui-moly tolerance.
