There are VERY many real historical facts in any documentary source easy to find. Dan Brown just pieced it all together and wrote an interesting book based on that.

Well, he said those events didn't really happen. As a kid, looking at the picture of the Last Supper back then I didn't care about religion or dogma, I was sure there was a woman next to Christ. I am Catholic, but just enough not to lose myself in the labyrinths of religion. And personally, I think that Jesus, be he three times of divine origin, was a healthy man and lived life to the fullest - which is what he calls us to do! Of course, if he was. The gospel text that says Jesus kissed Magdalene alone on the lips and loved her most is indeed there. And now many scholars are concluding that she was slandered at subsequent Ecumenical Councils.

Of course it's fiction! The Da Vinci Code is a good detective read easily in the same breath until the last you don't know WHO but no more than that. I can hardly imagine anyone taking it for the truth. Unless one is very young or unfamiliar with gospel history. How I think one is too materialistic - how so - Jesus came only to heal and resurrect people and teach them how to live according to divine laws then he ascended and that was it? No, it doesn't work like that. Let us marry him, of course, to a former harlot and give him children whose offspring survived to this day and founded implausible sects and got mixed up in completely unbelievable stories in the pursuit of the Grail cup, which does not exist in reality and about which real Christians do not even remember. Well read if well written, yes, but certainly not believe.
