The Island is definitely not our choice. Pop mainstream. 1984-yes, it's a genius film. But watch it. There are a lot of movies, but most of them are really hard to find. But if you find one, you'll be in for a treat. So, Kurt Wimmer's Equilibrium, Terry Gilliam's Brazil, Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira, Memories of the Future, Videodrome, Existence and David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch, Edo 808 series OVA. You can find these movies if you want to.
