I live in Spain. They do not think about us Russians there at all. And why should they think about others when they have enough problems of their own. And when it comes to talking about it, 90 people think that in Russia it's freezing all year round and everyone drinks vodka. To me, too, at first they were wary. I had to prove with my professionalism who we are. I work as a navigator on a yacht. If the other Spaniards had problems with electronics or mechanics I always offered them the services of Russian specialists. At first they were afraid to involve our people to solve these problems. But then they understood that there is no one better than our experts. Then they even came up to me in the port and said that the best captains in the world were Russians. I will not say that this is my merit, but now the Russians are treated with respect in our Spanish local ports.

It's not fucking good. In Germany, they screen films about the Siberian Far East countryside, its ruin and drunkenness. How they screamed when Luka turned off the valve! But you should not be afraid to fight them when you tell them a thing or two in their imported language, they just gulp air like fish on the beach.

When my husband went to Russia to get married everyone told him he was an idiot and he might not come back because there are tanks in the streets and the mafia will rip him off. etc. Even a customs officer tried to say something like that. They tried to scam our friend for money, and if it weren't for my little knowledge of geography and real life in Russia, it would have been so. And they do not hate us because we are smarter anyway. We have to think with our heads every day and we are used to doing things right, and they follow instructions. I saw a TV show - a plane crashed because the computer was broken and showed that they were flying normally, so the pilot did not feel that they were falling? They'd rather believe a program than think.
