As far as I understand, there is a software shutdown. Completely remove the power, as far as I know, you can not, but when there is no video signal at the input monitor goes to sleep, you can write a program that turns it on and off, but how to implement it, I do not know.

My wife did it once - she carefully wiped the dust off the entire monitor. Now I know for sure this method works.
