A quality CD player is better. For all other things being equal, you can put a brand-name imported audio CD in your turntable that plays way cooler than mp3. You can look for flash players with support for uncompressed digital formats, but they are few. MP3s are a loss of quality by default.

MP3 format quality is very questionable. If every squeak of a string and click of a plectrum is very important for you then buy audio CD, but is it worth to burden yourself with such a cumbersome thing?
