Anthem Finland. It is not at all difficult to find out what the Finns sing before international sports competitions, during official events and national holidays. All you have to do is open a volume by Alexander Blok. His poem, which begins with the words Our land, our land, our native land, is the anthem of Finland. Blok translated it in December 1915. The Finnish anthem is based on a poem written in Swedish in 1846, although its author is the Finnish poet Johan Runeberg. They tried many times to translate it into Finnish, and finally succeeded in 1889, when we got the modern version of our national anthem.

Johan Ludvig Runeberg. This is the Finnish National Anthem. He's a Finn, not a Russian. Written in Finnish, not Swedish.
