Because this world is made up of 3 gunas of a material nature. They are Goodness, Passion and Ignorance. So the one who doesn't want to evolve and evolve and only degrades is a manifestation of the guna of Ignorance. Is that all?

I suppose mainly because of the laziness of the mind! The modern man is not taught to think. Have you ever thought about how low the level of literacy and education among today's youth is? They don't READ! Not only that, I've heard parents say to adults: "Why books? You can learn everything from the Internet. The Internet has turned from a really possible means of obtaining information into a surrogate for communication. What kind of expansion of consciousness is this?

The development of consciousness is a qualitative change and according to the law of dialectics, quantitative prerequisites are necessary for its development. Right now, society is not facing problems which would require a global shift of consciousness as soon as they appear, they will happen. For example a global ecological catastrophe would require the consumer society to reconsider its views on nature, and would require qualitatively new mechanisms of self-regulation of the system based on the development of consciousness, for example.

We are not evolving as it is. We don't even know exactly what it is yet, we don't know how it came to be, so how to work with it, how to expand it, is quite unclear in my opinion.

Human development, personal development only through setting and solving problems for ourselves and the harder the problem, the harder to find a way out, the more persistent the problem is not amenable to its solution, the sweeter the moment of victory, the higher we climb the ladder of self-development.All brilliant simply.
