I went to Egypt this January when it was -4 in St. Petersburg. On the second day I learned on the Russian channel that it was -27 in St. Petersburg. And in Hurghada it was +25 +28. My feelings were impossible to describe. But my snide attitude won out. So it's cold for you there, and we're swimming here!: And in fact I completely disconnected there. Lying on the beach, drinking a cocktail, it was hard to believe that it was winter, snow and cold. But when it was time to go back - the horror! Had to change 50 degrees - from +25 to -25.
