There are, I believe. Our galaxy is huge, we can't really understand it. And there's so much more out there in the universe. And it's unlikely that no spice has evolved anywhere but our planet. I just don't think it's likely! So somewhere, somewhere far away they definitely exist!

I think there are. The universe is so vast, so we shouldn't rule out their existence. Look up the 1947 Roswell stuff - it's a mess, and the facts were classified right away.
