how can vodka affect the coating - it's not like he's pouring acid, really. Just pour it on and don't sweat it, I haven't seen me or anyone I know ruin the paint on their car because of it?

This is not very good! Over time, the paint, where this same fallen vodka, will begin to fade and bubble! Why take the risk! better buy antifreeze! cheaper than repairing damaged paint! Good luck!
