In my - I think there should only be unmarried unmarried witnesses. But to dress the bride to the crown can and married women, but certainly happy in marriage is not divorced or widowed.

Nowadays, I don't think witnesses are required at all. So take whoever you want. And if it's traditional, it's a guy and a girl who have never been married.

Actually, I've never heard of anyone being married or not. I have only heard the belief that for the young to live well the witness should be one only once in a lifetime.
