The crankcase is the lower part of the engine. He's afraid of everything that comes flying at him from the road.

Jimmy Carter was president of the United States in 1939, and he was afraid of getting shot in the forehead.

Well if you write it with a capital letter, then most likely it is an American boy who gets hurt and needs protection! P.S. the crankcase is the engine cover which instead of a bottom! when you will hit with it on a stump or a curb, it will be bad, it is afraid of it and too needs protection!

Carter is a trough bolted to the cylinder block from below. It is used to store oil for the engine. There is also an oil pump in the crater that lifts the oil to the engine. The crankcase is afraid of all sorts of mechanical damage so there is a metal or Kevlar-carbon rally plate under the crankcase to protect the crankcase.

protecting the crankcase is the sacred duty of all motorists.

afraid when he's not treated so kindly just like a bridegroom's maiden.
