Let MAWS be the given pyramid. Draw the height of the MO. Point O is the intersection point of the medians AA1, CC1, BB1 of the lower right triangle. According to the Pythagoras theorem AO2= 18 -6=12. Hence AO= 2V3 2 root of 3 The medians of the triangle divide each other by O in the ratio 2:1 counting from the vertex. Therefore OS1= 0.5* AO= V3 According to Pythagoras MS1=root of 6+3=3 From rectangular trunk AC1M AC1=root of 18-9=3 Then AB=2*AC1=6 Side area of pyramid=3*0.5*6*3=27 sq.cm
