i've had it for years, the biggest drawback is the trunk, great lens. now i've bought 24-105 and 24-70 not much difference. i've used it on 7d and 5d. on crope it sometimes lacks a wide angle but the quality is much better than 18-135mm

When I studied photography our instructor had one in his studio and we were always shooting models with it. It's a good lens especially for portraits= I would have bought one.

Just like Alex, used it for a few years. Used it with my 20D and then with my 50D. Picture quality, was quite satisfying. My trunk has fallen out more often over the years and it was infuriating. I don't use it now, I've already bought a second-hand one and it broke the aperture cable.
