Vprinprinciple SDI already wrote everything. I will add from me. The younger cat 6 hours on the route without problems, but without the carrier, in the arms. For she can't stand closed spaces, when she realizes that something is going on. Starts to scream like crazy when put in the carrier, without it - she is absolutely calm and curious. Apparently, these are character traits. So just in case your cat is from the same line, bring a harness and leash.

I drove mine for 12 hours, no special tricks, food, litter box and a diaper were not useful, out of the carriage but felt more comfortable, so the whole way was with me on the shelf on the harness and leash, of course, for safety

There are a lot of restrictions, you have to get a certificate from the vet, without it the conductor will not let you with the pet. You can only take the pet in the pet container, you can only put it in the luggage space, you can't let it out, etc. You read the rules of Russian Railways and the desire to carry a cat at once will disappear. PS Although I think for 500r conductor can be without a certificate

a carrier with a tray, diapers and wet wipes with you. Water, food is not necessary, a little hungry, it's okay. He should have a sedative before the trip, but only veterinary ones like Stomstress, Cot Baiyun, etc.
