it's a receiver as I recall. yes? is there any sound from the receiver? so only the records are not spinning. you should check the motor control, its power. try to take it to any GOOD service center that deals with music centers. they should help. or do you want to fix it yourself so to speak online?

Check the spin speed switch, flip it, press the microlift. Most likely the rubber on the intermediate drive shaft is oily or crumbling from old age, and the speakers have nothing to do with it.
