This format uses an extremely complex encoding algorithm. Unlike standard archivers which need to compress information so that after extracting it from the archive not a single bit has been changed, MP3 pursues somewhat different goals. Together with mathematical compression algorithms in this format there is also an extremely complex algorithm, based on psycho-physiological features of human body, for removing unnecessary audio data. MP3 is a stream format. This means that during encoding audio information is segmented into equal lengths of time, called frames. All of the frames are mutually independent. Each of these frames is encoded separately with its own parameters and has a header in which these parameters are described. During playback, the sequence of decoded frames produces a continuous sound of recorded audio
