The point of the sun in three or four seconds with the lens in focus lights up the wood it is clear that the sensor will be damaged even faster. Some cameras have center shutters there are limitations in the sighting mode but at the time of shooting there can be no limitations the lens focuses on the sensor.

I remember reading in the manual: don't point the camera at the sun you can go blind at best and damage the sensors in the lens or sensor at worst. Naturally we are talking about a normal DSLR, not soapboxes, which have the matrix is constantly open What have Zenith could still burn through the curtain - yes, I confirm that myself saw it But that IP-camera or DVR burned out from the sun have never met. Apparently because there is no manual mode that allows the matrix to ignite But all this happens not from any multi-frequency radiation and just from its power.

I've shot with different cameras and sometimes the sun got in the frame. But not once has the sensor burned out.
