Maybe people are right, but don't forget most tv tuners suck compared to tv tuners in terms of reception quality. And the more so in a TFT box, you will see that because of the class of these systems it's all screwed up.

I'm all for the monitor+TV tuner bundle. If you have a lot of money, there's nothing to think about. You can buy a TV with a normal noise reduction system which costs as much as a car and you don't bother. But for most people, and for me in particular, the deciding factor is the price/quality ratio, so I chose this option. I watch it on the monitor, and then I switch to the TV, and on the monitor I like it better. The colors are brighter and the picture is not cut off around the edges.
