It depends on the job. If it's not critical and doesn't take much intelligence, why not? But never in a position of responsibility. There's a lot of risk.

If you're a maniac or a rapist, no, but you can. I personally know a guy who did a lot of time in jail, but he was cool!

I think they should be. Otherwise, how can they live if there is no opportunity to work, so they will commit a crime and go back to prison. Not all of them are hardened criminals, some of them were set up, and some of them regret what they have done.
