Ostriches are best taken as chicks. As soon as they hatch. They can be transported for 4 days without feed or water. Puberty comes - males at 3 years old and females at 2. Until then, they are one loss. It's better to take adults.

I've never bred them and can't help but say that they're unlikely to survive in Russia. Better go to Australia where there are ostrich farms. They will help you and advise you. I only know that ostrich eggs are big and tasty.
