The official version: the technical level was not enough to realize what he wanted to show, and when the industry got older, and so did Lucas, we saw everything as it was meant to be. My opinion: For intrigue. Much more interesting to watch the last 3rd part of the epic, and more instructive.

He just saw that the plot is best suited, and then chased the money and began to shoot on, but one hitch should have the first series first run and then wildly turned out. My personal opinion the first part 20 years ago was the best.
