I had a computer crash. Turned out the cooler had a broken foot, i.e. it was working but not cooling the CPU, and it just shut down after getting to 118 C or higher

There could be lots of reasons, you should describe the situation in more detail, what have you done before, what messages are you getting during booting, is it booting in safe mode?

in all likelihood the problem is with your mom or memory - try to boot in safe mode - if you succeed and it will be the same on reboot, then yes it is your mom

Well the computer did turn on, didn't it? I had the same glitch with the computer: I turn it on, it does not work, something - something says in English, passes about 15 minutes, I press reboot, and all is normal.

maybe damaged sys-files, maybe a virus. what to do: when you turn on just before you boot up the wind press f8 will pop up menu select restore system configuration. if not help, then also through f8 select safe mode - then roll back the system. may help. if not a virus of course, then remove the drive and treat on another machine or try to put antivirus from safe mode and cure from safe mode still try to run scandisk check disk c for errors and mail if questions on the course will appear than I can help

the answer is simple, reinstall your windows some system files are screwed up.

Depends on where your booting comes to - if you don't see your welcome message and your monitor turns off then check your videogame in safe mode, maybe it or its drivers - try to take your drivers off and reboot in safe mode and install them again. If other way, describe it in more detail.
