This means that you can only focus manually. If the adapter will have a chip, will the camera's built-in focus confirmation system work - when you press the shutter button halfway, you can twist the lens focus ring until a distinctive beeping sound is enabled in the camera settings , and the circular indicator in the viewfinder on the bottom right turns on?

The Soviet lens has a manual focus ring if you have one such as the Zenit Helios.

You'll have to turn the focus ring manually. Soviet lenses are motorless.

focus is manual. m42 adapter can be with a pic-mic chip or without chip and eyeballs.

When you press the shutter half way the camera focuses by itself Motor in the lens works and older lenses don't have motor

This means that there is no autofocus on Soviet type lenses. Only manual focus.

That means that soviet-made lenses like Helios Yupiter Industar Mir Tair and other crappy copies of the Zeiss from the 30s are designed for digital cameras with dandelion-like Lushnikov adapters by photo-lovers. You'd better buy a BODY Mercedes and put an engine from Moskvich or Oka. And tell us what miracle engines are both in sound and in repair.

You won't believe it, but even if you put a Soviet Helios on a Mark 5 and it doesn't have autofocus

Response from 0[+++]
only the MF AF won't work

Andrei +1: That's it.

which means you have to rotate the focus ring to focus
