I don't think it's the cake's fault. Sounds like some kind of bronchitis that's gone down into your lungs. Make sure you see a doctor.

5 months and not once to the doctor? Kamikaze. After poisoning could be a decrease in immunity and the problems went further. That's exactly what happened to me. Got pneumonia.
